Character Design
Uploaded 2009-01-19

Q. Sometimes when I draw a character over and over, it just gets worse with every try. Have you any suggestions?

A. That has happened to me a lot. What I find that works is not picking up the pencil too soon. What I mean by that is, save your initial thrust for later. Get inspired first. Think about your character and the soul of him/her. What is his/her back story? Good caricature should be based on real life. Think then draw.
