    Tangled - Disney

    Tangled

Tangled (previously titled Rapunzel) is an upcoming American animated film produced by Walt Disney Animation Studios and starring the voices of Mandy Moore and Zachary Levi. It will be the 50th animated feature in the Walt Disney Animated Classics series, planned for release on November 24, 2010. The story is loosely based on the classic German fairy tale Rapunzel by the Brothers Grimm.

    What do you guys think?
I love the trailers, the animation 3D is very nice.
But i doesn't really like the design of Princess Raiponce, i find that her eyes are too big...
    This film looks promising !

Visually I think it looks amazing, and I love the animation as well. Let's see how the story and character development pans out when it opens. My only hope is that they don't put in those contemporary songs we heard in the trailer/teaser, it doesn't fit the time period.

Hmm..if it is 3d ...then..why it is not produced by Pixer??(just curious)..i think...Disney owned Pixer.. did not it ?.....well, as far as i know Glen keane was the direcotor`s seat for this film but later on he was laid off....lots of controversial is going on with name also......first it was `Rapunzel` then it changed by `Tangled`..................my humble question is ,`is it the first 3d animation from Disney animation studio releasing in theater?....they have produced some `Tinker bell` series already in dvd,,,,

    Regards,
    Arif

Okaaayyy ... this movie will have to do a little better than those trailers to win me over ...
While Keane was still on the project he kept going on about how they were shooting for visuals that look like a moving oil painting, but ... this actually has the run-off-the-mill 3D look to me. I mean, it's not like soft glows haven't been done before.
Maybe this is just me but the character designs aren't anything to really write home about, are they? And A P!nk song? And a chameleon? Were they running out of animal types for sidekicks?!

All in all, the impression I get is that they're bringing their fairy-tale formula to 3D and trying for some spunk. Hm. Nope, this isn't an animated feature I feel like I must see just from watching one trailer. I'll wait and see.

Ahh, no, it was always going to be CG. Glen created some beautiful hand drawn concept art which hasn't hit the net yet, I don't think, of Rapunzel and the animators used it as reference.

Yes, Glen was the original director, then Dean Wellins was brought on as co-director to help get the story in place. Later Glen and Dean were replaced by Byran Howard and Nathan Greno who are now the current directors. The official word from Disney was that Glen was replaced because of health issues. Rapunzel/Tangled has had a crazy development schedule of nearly eight years and the first iteration started off with a painterly look:

Yep, the North American trailer isn't my cup of tea either mainly because I don't fit with the Disney channel demo. The Dutch trailer, on the other hand, is more appealing for me:

Where dose she go to the bathroom?

What I think. Blah. Not into it. I'll see how I feel when it comes out.

P.S. Why dose it always have to be a love story. Most people I know don't even like that live action. (including myself) Why would we think any different if it was animated.

I wouldn't judge the film too quickly by the trailers alone. The impression I got from seeing it Disney is different than how it's being marketed right now. Granted I didn't see much and it was a year and a half ago now so maybe things changed but whatever I saw looked good.

Oh, I'm not writing this one off, that's why I wrote I'll wait and see. It's just that I'm not sold on the visuals. (Although I'm decidedly NO member of the "everything new in animation looks bland"-faction.)
I'm pretty sure I'll see it once, but just based on those trailers I'm not too sure I'd want to spend extra to see it in 3D, for example.

Sooo - are you Dutch or Belgian? my mother is Dutch so I guess that makes me half-Dutch. (Doesn't say so in my passport but that's red tape for ya. )
