    Wednesday May 12, 2010

We are starting this thread early to give members a chance to upload any video or images they want critiqued in May 12th seminar. The best format for video clips is .MOV files (Quicktime videos).
Throughout the week, Dave will try to incorporate as many images and video clips as possible into the live seminar.

The deadline for clips and images to be critiqued in the live seminar is Tues May 11th @ 5:00 PM sharp AZ time.

    Thanks

    Hey Don,

This week my study was Donald Duck. I have problems when darkening the lines after sketching. Advice on how to achieve great lines would be great!

I've been working through an idea for a short film about a slave family escaping the plantation using the underground railroad. It would have no dialog, just an old spiritual playing in the background.

This is the father slave trying to run across an opening in the forest while a hunter tries to shoot at him. His wife and kids are on the other side and he's desperately running to get to them where they can escape into the forest.

Hello Don and Dave, I took your advice and jumped into the frog world. And what an amazing world it is,seems they're as diverse a group as we are. It helped me make a few changes to my character design. Here is the first pose from my animation, I would appreciate hearing your thought on how I could improve the pose? Also how much can an animator step away from reality to make a story work?

    Don,
Do you have any tips for characters handling props?

The feel I get is that often the prop is either an obstacle the character must avoid or an extension of the character.

When animating how do you factor props into your planning?
