    TVPaint 9.5 Released

    Hey All,

I just noticed that TVPaint 9.5 was released and they have some very cool new features. TVPaint looks like great software for traditional animation. I was particularly interested in the storyboard feature and the peg hole registration (great for people who still draw on paper!). This program is getting very close to the depth and ease of Adobe After Effects. I'm very impressed and tempted to save up for it.

Check out some videos on the new features:

I was using tvpaint for a short film film before my cintiq broke. Great program but the interface always bothered me so I'm glad they've made some adjustments in 9.5. DNethery has some really nice stuff he's drawn with tvpaint and I hope others check it out.

Great. The first thing i hope they upgraded is time and animation control.

Here's DNethery's blog. He has excellent drawing skills! I love how solid his constructions are.

Yeah, I really like TVP Animation. The new version has some major improvements.
For me TVP has become my go-to program for just about any kind of animation/illustration/sketching when I'm using my Wacom tablet (I still like traditional pencil on paper , too ! But the great thing is that TVP can also be used as a traditional line-tester by using the Video Grabber or by scanning drawings into TVP) .

Plenty of examples on the official TVP Gallery , but I've also got a collection of clips from projects using TVP on this site:

I would like to get it fixed but it's out of warranty and it would cost me money just to send it back without a guaranty of being fixed when it returns. I don't really have spare change these days so good old pencil and paper will have to do for a while. Sad because it was only a year of warranty when the cintiq broke down...
I wrote about it on my site too and judging from the google hits, it looks like quite a few people have broken cintiq issues...

Well, what a bad story, concerning your Cintiq tablet =/

I just want to let a little meassage concerning the new update of TVP Animation 9.5 This version contains a new great feature : the "Out of Pegs" This new extension of the lightable allows you to temporarily move, scale and rotate the lightable images of the surrounding frames in order to make inbetweening easier.

If there are TVP Animation 9 owners here, don't hesitate : the update is free for them !
