Could "9" be the return of adult animation?

I dont know if anyone has heard. But there is an animated movie called "9" and its rated PG13. Now this is a rare siting for an animated film to be targeted at teenagers considering that mostly we all get is a plain old G rated film.

Now there are sayings that this could be the return for adult animation in the cinemas. You can read about this movie here http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/9_%282009_film%29.

So what do u think? Could 9 be the gateway to greenlight more serious animation? If you got an opinion discuss here please.

I think Tim Burton is one of the few (if not only) directors who could get a green light for a project like this. If it brings more interest for adult animation..great! My son is very interested in seeing this. The song "Welcome Home" by Coheed and Cambria gives the trailer that extra something.

Tim Burton. Hes another director that I admire greatly. I know the basic concept of the movie...and its so unique and original, which is why I plan to check it out. I am also looking forward to "Alice In Wonderland". Though, I will admit, I was expecting it to be dark. lol! But, this plans to be very eerie with the bright colors and such. And I love how Tim used the same actors, such as Johnny Depp, over and over again.

If I was director, which I am in a way using the game The sims 2, when I find actors that I KNOW can do the job, I would use them over and over again, too.

I am also looking foward to hearing Elijah Wood voice in this. I love Elijah. Such and amazing actor!

I'm pretty sure he's just producing it which I'm pretty sure means he's just handling the finances, not directing or writing it.

I saw the trailer to this when I went to see Transformers: Revenge of the Fallen a few weeks ago, and I've been wanting to see it since.

I am sure many know already but it was a short playing at various festivals a few years back. I really liked it. I was happy to see it was going to be made into a feature. As of the moment of typing this the whole 10 minute short is on YouTube.
