    Beautiful 2D animation!

Why have I not heard of this before?

Nice find! I wouldn't have expected a video game with such nice 2-D animation to be made these days. (If there are others I haven't heard of them...)
I'm glad to see there are developers interested in projects like this!

I think "our" DNethery worked on that. IIRC.

Ah, I see they've ported it as an app. It was originally as an arcade console.

GdeSouza : Yes, I did work on "The Act" , and yes it was originally conceived of as an arcade game. Development and production was in 2004 - 2006. This new version for mobile devices is a recent attempt to relaunch it.

Most of the animation crew (including myself) were recently laid-off Disney artists from the Orlando, FL studio.

I have to say that although the gameplay doesn't win me over, the visuals on the other hand look absolutely great!! The animation is really top notch, love the design of the girl.... One thing that stands out for me is that the mechanics for controlling the character allow for the the animation to shifts from one pose to the other effectively giving you the illusion of actually controlling (to a limited degree) a 2d animated character.... is just too bad that action wise it's not that exciting. Definitely interesting though.. congrats David for working on this project, just a follow up question: was this put together at the FireFly Studios in Orlando?

Interesting. Now, I'm still looking for 2D animation, mostly theatrical released today. Even though I'm mostly relying on Japanese animation for television. That sounds like a nice game though.
