Akku's Artwork
Hello and good day!
I'm a rather modest artist and I do have to really push myself to open up and show off my art, especially in new venues, but here goes... Just a few things you should be mindful of when viewing my art: I am vision-impaired and have been since birth. All of my art is done digitally using a mouse. Also, I work together with my fianc?e, Amanda on nearly all of my pictures, so if you're wondering why all of my art is signed by both of us, that would by why. Oh! I really love to draw cartoon dragons, so expect to see them in abundance. Anyway, away we go!

I'll be sure to post more of my projects sometime soon. Your input is always greatly appreciated! If you'd like to see the rest of my work without having to wait for me to re-post it here, it can be found at my DA page: http://akkushisu.deviantart.com/ and some on my fianc?e's page as well: http://amandadahamster.deviantart.com/ Thanks for viewing! Have a wonderful day, everyone.

great stuff! and welcome!
I really like your faces in particular. they have so much life to them. it's the eyes, mostly. Coloring is really solid and very well done. Thanks for sharing!
As a fellow dragon lover myself - though less cartoony, I'll be watching this stuff with interest

Awesome!
I think its especially cool that you have a collaborative partnership going with your fiance. I've only recently had the priviledge of working closely with other artists with like interest in and passion for animation and I'm enjoying it tremendously.
The artwork you have shown here already is really inspirational.
The one thing I think you'll gain from Don almost immediately is a solid understanding of what playing straight and curved lines off of each other can do for you. (I don't see many straight lines in your illustrations)
You do have me curious here and forgive me if this gets too personal.
When you say you are visually impaired does this mean you mostly work in grayscale?
Color me curious.
Welcome to the the Forum!

@ lavallelee: Thank you so much! It means a lot to hear that you enjoy my work!
@ NateHorsfall: Thanks, friend! A lot of people seem to agree with you regarding the detail I put into my characters' faces and eyes. Rest assured you'll see a lot more dragon toons in this thread, too! I hope you enjoy my future postings!
@ jeremyhopkins: Thank you! I try to keep a good balance of detail, texture, and depth to my pictures, but still keep things simple and toony. Anyway, glad you like what I've posted so far! Hope you'll stick around to see more.
@ arifnbd: Haha! Worry not, my friend! I intend to post much more here. I'm just glad you like what I've shown so far. To answer your query: I do all of my work using a mouse. This includes the inking, coloring, shading, and even the background. The only part I do not do is the initial sketch, which my fianc?e, Amanda does. Sometimes, we split up the workload a bit more evenly and she'll also do the inking or coloring and shading.
@ Rodney: Thank you! Me and my fianc?e really have a lot of fun working together. Collaborating on projects is so much more enjoyable than doing all the work yourself, in my opinion. If you have the opportunity, I would recommend you try doing some collabs with other artists. It's very enlightening to see how your own style mingles with theirs! To answer your query regarding my condition: I have very poor eyesight. So bad that I can never drive a car. I can, thankfully get around on my own without the need of a cane or guide dog. Learning to draw with my sort of disability has been a real challenge, but I have never stopped pushing myself. Heck! My day isn't complete unless I've done at least some portion of work on a drawing!
And with all my replies now answered, here's some more art! Enjoy!

Hopeful
Your Dragons look like they would be on a classic NES game. Most likely made by Capcom. Mega Dragon, non-stop 8-bit action! Hey, that's starting to sound pretty good! I want a copy now!
Your work is really nice. Wish I was that good. The coloring is just amazing. What program do you use? Photoshop, G.I.M.P.?
If I had to critique your work, (hope you don't mind) I would say some of the drawings are a little stiff. Unless they are suppose to be Model Sheet drawings for character reference, or character design. I'm going to sound like Don Bluth here but, what is it you're trying to say with your pictures? The colors and design are beautiful, but I'm not getting a feeling or emotion from the drawings. Hopefully I don't sound like I'm coming down on you, because you really are quite talented! That's just my thoughts on what would knock your drawings up from amazing to unbelievable!
plus, I can't really talk. My drawings are stiffer than a dead person. Can't seem to get them in any exciting poses. Maybe someday.
In short! Nice work, keep it up Seth!

@ Seth: Haha! Y'know, it wasn't just films and cartoon shows that inspired me to draw. I originally wanted to become a game designer. In fact, I still do want to make retro-style video games.
I use two programs for all of my work, PhotoImpact and OpenCanvas. The reason I use those instead of other programs is mainly because of their simplicity, very friendly hotkey layouts, and most of all, because both are not resource hogs like Photoshop.
Regarding your critique, don't sweat me taking it personally, Seth. You are right though, and for some of the reasons you mentioned. My pictures are typically of single characters and are designed to introduce my viewers to the character. I do try to convey a sense of movement in some pictures, but that may be something I need to work on. Another thing is that I'm posting these pictures without the accompaniment of any sort of background story or character bios. What you see here is really only half of what I'm really capable of, as I put just as much time and effort into writing about a character as I do drawing one.
Thanks for your write-up of my work, Seth! I'll do my best to improve on giving my viewers more of a sense of movement in my future works!
@ lavallelee: Y'know... I think it might be modeled after a Disney castle now that you mention it! Haha! Thank you, by the way! I'm so happy that you continue to enjoy my work!
Ready for more art? Yep! I am, too!
