...for what other reason does one need?

I am new to the site and, like many here, grew up with Mr. Bluth's glorious work. Imagine my glee when I learned of this site! I thought I might upload a few drawings, for a bit of fun. All of the drawings here are characters from stories I have written, past and present... mostly children/young adult books. Just quick drawings to get the writing juices flowing, so to speak. I hope you enjoy them and I am pleased to meet you all!

And this is a little homage for Mr. Bluth.... The Land Before Time is one of my all time favorite tales...

The Sea Before Time: Little Shell (Archelon), Trina (Trinacromerum), Canthy (Coelacanth) and Ammo (Ammonite) all try to make it to the Great Algal Bloom. Little Shell has a sea star on his forehead... yep, yep, yep!

I really like the range you've got. You can do cartoony or more serious, or a mixture of both which is always an interesting juxtaposition.

Thank you very much. :) It is, truth be told, a trait that, were it not for Mr. Bluth's influence on me as a child, I would not have whatsoever. It is the greatest aspect of his art and animation that I adore; the ability to convey true emotion/drama with cartoons.

Very impressive/intimidating! How did you achieve the crosshatching effect on the...cyber-ferret? Wacom? It looks like something only the steadiness of a good pencil hand could do.

Haha why thank you Brandon. I could not use a tablet to save my immortal soul. Haha! I use a pencil for all of my work. ;) I like the feel of the pencil and paper... a tablet simply never felt good to me... though, to each his/her own, as they say!

Thank you very much Lavallelee. : )

I have written only two actual books in my time, one of which, a children's book, I self-published. I am currently working on two bits of writings (nothing fancy), a full-length novel and a children's series of short books. Perhaps one day they will be available, we shall see!

Have you written anything yourself?

Good and interesting stuff :)

On the color pieces, while it is an interesting effect, the "light glare" gets me blinking and squinting. This is no fault of yours, but mine. A lifetime of walking in the sunshine without sun glasses or at least a hat has taken a toll on my eyes. Your effect emulates what I typically see too well. Thus I find it distracting.

Take that as a complement :)
