Considering that Don Bluth is trying to make a movie based on his video game I thought I would bring this up. Is there a video game that you love that you think would work out as an animated movie? I do know that there is a movie of The Neverhood and Earthworm jim into the works. So What games do u want to see as an animated film?

I would personally be so happy if they would do a Crash Bandicoot movie.

What about a Metroid?

I can see metroid as a live action, sci-fi, horrer like Aliens. I think that would be cool.

I agree with The Neverhood. Another game I'd also love to see as an animated film is Grim Fandango

Yea but that movie sucked and so did Sonic X. But I did like Sonic Satam and Sonic Underground. I mean I'd never own it on dvd but it had a cool concept to it.

You know what's crazy but true? Sonic the Hedgehog is more recognized than Mickey Mouse! A survey was done and that's what they got. That's pretty surprising.

mickey mouse as of late has only been in a few things such as

Kingdom Hearts
Playhouse Disney

and playhouse disney is for 1 year olds, very bad 3d animated show

if disney would use mickey more, im sure that he would be recognized more

Yea, that's true. It's like the only thing Mickey Mouse realated on Disney channel is the ears on the tv.

Heart of Darkness. It's an old game for Playstation, very imaginative about a boy who travels to another planet to save his dog from otherworldy darkness. The intro is almost feature film material, I love it.

Interesting to note is that the designer, Eric Chahi, was inspired to make adventure games due to Dragon's Lair.

I'm sorry Yutaro but you and I have different opinions of what is 'almost feature film' quality. Though it is hard to think in 1998 terms for cg animation anymore.
The intro to FF7 blew me away in 1997:

Then Crisis Core last year:
http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=4-KWj4Gg1NY
Then again the visuals didn't really help the advent children movie from being anything more than a long cut sequence.

Hey jeremyhopkins,
I hope you didn't think I meant the quality of the animation in that video, it's hardly worth cheering over. I agree the Final Fantasy series has always excelled in that regard. I was more interested in the directing or the creative liberties the creators had taken while setting up the premise of the game, I thought it was quite unique to see in a video game intro at that time.
'Feature film' is probably pushing it but I could swear I completely forgot I was playing a game the first time I saw it :)

OMG Earthworm Jiiiiiim movie yesssss <3 I loved the cartoon series!

I think Psychonauts would make a great movie. Such a fantastic game. I didn't play it (no patience with 3D games, I am secretly an old person on the inside) but I watched someone play it, and it was wonderful, with a quirky cast of characters and compelling story.

this is why Tim Schafer's awesome :)! he makes great, quirky games that are very appealing and humor-filled

I'm 'slightly' biased about the Little Nemo movie, since I own the book of the Sunday comics that were made of Little Nemo in Slumberland and watched a bit of the demo animations for plot and style ideas. But the movie was quite a change from the comics themselves, though it kept some elements, and it was still charming either way
I do admit I've never played the game, but I've heard plenty of good things about it.

My Winsor McCay faze was all about in grade 10 a few years back -searching up everything about him,Including his little nemo sunday storys at our university library- studying his animation - gertie the dinasuar- How a Mosquito Operates made in 1912:D yes Im a fan of such a great and aventurous artist!

I thought the little nemo movie was for some reason I always thought the whole movie was solely based off this animation of little nemo http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=seOGEwx0NfQ/or was its biggest inspiration as far as characture goes for a movie and storyline

the movie was absolutly magnificent :D words cannot describe how well this movie was done!

and since I have childhood memorys about playin the game it may interfere with my actual rating witch is a A+ and to this day Ive replayed it about 15 times ,am a proffesional i must say .

Winsor McCay is currently still an adoration of mine, hahaha.
I thought the movie was based off of that, too. But if I can find the demo animation I found by Osamu Dezaki, I'll post it. It's basically what the entire movie was based on and more closely based on McCay's style.

and the movie; it's so awesome to see somebody who likes it as much as I do xD.

You can't say that till you play the game though. The story could end up being horrible.

Star Fox, and maybe just for a few good giggles - either Maniac Mansion or Space Quest. Zelda wouldn't be too bad either, really. I could name a few more which wouldn't be too bad.

Even Dragon's Lair would make a good one. =D

I wish there was a Kingdom Hearts movie, but I really would want it 2D and done in the United States, because even though I like some anime 12 frames per second would kill Disney characters.
I'd like a Legend of Zelda animated movie too. I don't want like it anything like that horrible 80s TV show, but if it had a good storyline it could be amazing!

but you just said you liked anime, you already should know that now all of them are 12fps, which it has a likelier chance of NOT being if it's a movie, and you give it to the right people

Yes, I like the stories anime, but a lot of times I get really angry at the lack of movement. Like I was watching an anime when someone was playing the piano. Their hands did not move, but their hair was blowing in the wind.
I just feel if there was going to be a Kingdom Hearts moving I'd like a lot of it drawn in the U.S.
Even if they do have more fps, Japanese people use less gestures than Americans, so there'd be something missing to the characters.
