Forum signature difficulties

I get an error message when trying to create a signature. It says my signature can only be 5 characters long (including BBC markup). I feel this can't be right, but am I doing something wrong?

Message Dave, he might be able to fix your problem, he is an admin.

It sounds like a weird error, did you try multiple times on different browsers?
