View Full Version : Difference between Stereoscopic stop-motion and Go animation?

Hey Pal,
I m doing reseach on the animation techniques and try to make one software that covers all the facility so i find this 2 term Go animation and Stereoscopic stop-motion but i m not aware of this so please tell me if you have knowledge on the same.

Stereoscopic stop motion uses 2 cameras to record the frame (one for each eye) those frames are projected alongside each other and using various systems of glasses etc. you get a stereoscopic effect. It is the same as making a 3D live action film just with stop motion.
There is Go-motion which is a form of stopmotion invented in the 80's which used computer motion control rigs on the models to add motion blur to the movement of the stop motion models.
One of the big films at the time to use this technique was Dragonslayer

but i think then go motion is bit older now day because it has some limited functionality compare to other animation techniques ..(as per my knowledge and understanding but may be i m wrong also) ..so finally i get the answer that i hunt for..buddy keep this good work !!!
