Hi Don,
I was wondering if you were going to consider to continue with the music lessons series that you posted a while ago in the rag bag section .:)
I understand that you've got a lot to deal with now that the Cyber Garage Project is picking up the pace...but somehow I keep coming back to the music lesson video wondering what was more in store on the subject matter of rhythm and animation. It is a subject matter that really fascinates me, timing is a foundational principle in animation, intrinsically connected to music principles...I really felt that you where trying to develop an important concept, but somehow due to time restrictions you could only scrape its surface. Whenever animating a shot (being in 2d or 3D) I always have a hard time managing my timing (pun not intended), I'll have my character rushing through their shot too quickly or pausing for too long within each action. A while ago my animation teacher, who like you has a background in music, advised me to deal with this problem by aiding myself with music theory,....however, although I do play music instruments, and understand music writing I couldn't really make the connection within the two mediums, and ended up giving up on the entire subject matter. So you could imagine my surprise when discovering your video in the rag bag section.
So there you go, I thought I'd let you know how much I appreciate this very informative video you've made and that definitely someone is really looking forward to the continuation of that music lesson series.
Regards,
Felice.
