Well I'm anxtious to get my thread rolling, so I'll start by posting some pretty old tests I did in easytoon. I used to have dozens on my laptop but unfortunately it didn't hold out (all I have left is the three or four I had posted on deviantart). Just got a scanner today and I'll post some sketches later and maybe some flash animations as well.

Unfortunately when my laptop died, my tablet did too. Character animation went out the window seeing as my computer art skills with just a mouse were not so hot. But as soon as I get my new setup (either a cintiq or an all out animation desk) you'll be seeing more detailed lively animations.

You have some nice overlap and squash and stretch going here. :D
I think the leaf on the first animation flies around too much though, it should float down a little gentler and not go back up but always down. Unless the wind is really blowing hard, in which case you should have the branch blowing in the wind to show there is a strong force moving the leaf. Just my thoughts on that. :P
Oh and with the hand it would look nice if you bent it a little at the wrist when it goes back and forth. More overlap and it'll make the wrist joint more noticeable. Since most people don't keep their wrists locked up when they wave their hands.
Nice animations though. :)

Looks like you're using some kind of pixel program, the quality of the animation could be improved.

Yep easytoon is a nice pixel program. I don't USE it, I used it previously for tests like these. These were roughly a year ago.

hehe, I opened this page and I sware the leaf animation and the drip animation felt like it merged perfectly. The leaf went off the botton of the page and at the same time the drip came from the top.
more to the point, great little animations there : D

That brings me an idea of a whole slew of perfectly timed gif animations on a page... I might actually try that some time when I have nothing better to do. Make a whole thread with a chain reaction of animations! Haha.
Anyways I set up my "light table" (which really sucks) and I'm playing around with traditional animation. I did the good old bouncing ball. But I can't figure out how to get it on the computer and animate it. For some reason my scanner can't be set to get the whole page, so it changes the image size based on what's drawn. So every frame is a different size, and I can't put them in an animation together unless they're all the same size. It's also taking about a minute per page, which isn't flying with me. Any ideas? I'm trying to set up my camera but I'm not finding the right cords...

Some sketches I have:
By far my worst enemy in art is mouths, I can never get them right, so here's one of my practices:

And a half of a girl's face. This wasn't planned it was just a couple second sketch. On a torn up piece of paper... But I liked how it turned out.
