This is the thread for the Pygmy Owl Drawing submissions. Please, no comments or posts.
No color, No other characters. Again, whatever medium you choose to get you there is up to you but we would prefer if your drawings were rough and done with pencil and paper.

Here he is. I thought of him as a grumpy but lovable Ed Asner as Lou Grant type.

Well I gave it my best. This was a toughie... I haven't drawn in a long time and I had a couple weeks full of finals to study for and distractions. Finally I had some time tonight to sketch it up pretty quick. Although I had a lot of other owl sketches done, none were worth posting. So here's my final product whether I like it or not. Fingers crossed and good luck to my Pygmy Owl.

I had a really hard time with the legs and feet. Ugh! Pygmy owls frustrate me.

The Pygmy Owl loves to watch the world go by. So many interesting people to see and things being done. Nothing gets by without this observant fellow knowing.

I decided to push the "Plump" look I felt from the original reference.

Congratulations Spookaboo...

The character feels like he has a personality and your design will be easy to animate. Now, we'll be able to finish off the story sketches using your design. Good job; get someone to pat you on the back!

Noticeable mentions: In no particular order... This was a close competition. We finally had to throw the bones to see who won. (only joking) Congratulations you guys.

2) Nanook123
3) Fainder
4) Penumbra
5) Timothy B
6) Jtq3

For everyone else that entered the competition let me say this... There were many excellent drawings but not right on the money for the character we needed for the three minute Cyber Garage short.
