In my intro post (http://www.donbluthanimation.com/forum/showpost.php?p=673&postcount=37) I talked about sharing some of Mr. Bluth's art with you all. Well, with the fortuitous reacquisition (say that five times fast, haha) of my scanner, I can finally do so!
First off, have a pic of Justin. Sorry about the quality of this'n, I wanted the embossed seal to be clear so I upped the grays quite a bit:

And here's the sketch that Mr. Bluth did for me when I subscribed to his magazine. (Did anybody else here subsribe to ToonTalk?):

I hate how banged up these pages have gotten since I acquired them. :o They were in storage for years, though. Suppose I should count myself lucky that they survived, heh!
Anyway, thought you might like to see these. ^^

Very cool. I was thinking of maybe starting a thread to share those that collect animation art.
I have some cels, and a few pencil drawings for cels, but not much like those sketches that reveal a lot, except one of the many Brisby sketches Bluth did a while back.

TimothyB: I got both of these images a while ago, at San Diego ComiCon in 2001. X) So it's been quite a while. Mr. Bluth just happened to have a booth there when I went. You should start that thread! I for one would love to see what others have acquired over the years. :}
Lavallelee: ToonTalk was a magazine that Mr. Bluth was putting out for a while. It basically put out the same kinds of information as this forum, except that it was obviously slower. XD It actually folded about half a year or so after I subscribed... But now we have the forum! :}

lavallelee: If I find them I surely will. XD Right now they're in a box somewhere. The magazines were basically what this forum is, though: Don giving out animation tips and tricks. ^^ The magazine went defunct not too long after I subscribed, though, which made me sad: I got a check back, actually, for something like $6.50 in unredeemed magazines. ^^ If I ever do find the box they're in I'll scan a couple. ^^

The only animation art I have is a drawing of Quick Draw McGraw. :rolleyes:
There is some wicked Smurf cels you can get on Ebay for hardly nothin...and He Man junk. Which I would actually love to decorate my place with. :D

I like how don bluth draws so freely and lively at the same time all the while creating a character at the same time :) very impressive

I've gotten hours of study out of these, that's for sure. I bet some of the animators here get a chuckle out of that thought. ^^ Sketches like these are probably a dime a dozen in a studio environment.
But these are my sketches... :D
